“I’ve become convinced that my ability to help others is limited by my knowledge of community resources. I know my personal resources are not enough to help all the needs that cross my path, neither are my church’s, but I believe that if we work together as a community—donors, professionals, volunteers, listening ears—if we come together despite denominational divides, agency agendas, or differing philosophies of ministry—I believe we can meet the needs of our neighbors in need. It takes individuals being willing to educate themselves so that they can become “walking resource fairs” for the needs of their community. It does my heart good to see our community coming together in this way…”
